About

Hello and welcome to my page !
My name is Naif Mehanna, and I am currently a PhD candidate in Web security & privacy at the University of Lille and Inria (Spirals team). My research is focused on browser fingerprinting and online advertising, with a particular interest toward uncovering new tracking methodologies on the Web. For the last four years, I have worked under the supervision of Prof. Walter Rudametkin. As of the time of this writing, my work is mainly revolving around ads-induced privacy risks and hardware based browser fingerprinting. Finally, my graduation is expected for May 2024!

Before enrolling in my PhD, I graduated with an engineering degree in Micro-electronics, and started working as a Data Engineer/Data Scientist at a Lille-based startup named Vekia. At Vekia, I was in charge of implementing state-of-the-art demand forecasting algorithms, building forecasting pipelines and contributed with the R&D team to the development of the in-house machine learning solution.
